ENVIRONMENT Welkom bij DISTRICO Green Transport Provider (GTP) Award   DISTRICO has been awarded the GTP label thanks to our "Environmental Care" program. This program attempts to decrease our "ecological footprint" to an ultimate minimum. The Global Transportation Institution ("GTI") nominated DISTRICO  as a winner because of the following initiatives (a.o.): • CO² reduction by investing in a new truck fleet • Our Think Global, Act Local strategy • Conversion of our WARR principles to eWARR • Our durable trading policies • Several special programs & projects such as e.g. the decentralization of our training centers Training Center Decentralization Program   The objectives of the "Training Center Decentralization Program" fits into our environmental care & durable enterpreneurship commitment. The program should result in the creation of 3 local training centers, one in Antwerp, one in Hong- Kong and one in the NewPort Branch. Once all established, it should result in lesser travel for our oversees clients as they can be served at a local center. The new centers will also have an upgraded infrastructure, which should allow for e-learning applications. Our project teams will assure that the new training infrastructures will be constructed by making use of environmental friendly materials. Corporate Project Office   Our Corporate Projects Office (CPO) is responsible for the day-to-day management of our Programs & Projects. It is positioned in a direct reporting line to the Managing Director, illustrating the importance of programs and projects to DISTRICO. The CPO provides for a regular reporting on the complete project portfolio and also assures that the project management methodology remains up-to-date and applied within the organization. The Management Team believes that the CPO is also ideally positioned to incorporate a special unit relating to “Environmental Care & Durable Enterpreneurship”. The CPO Manager has been asked to create this unit as soon as possible and to get it operational by the end of this calendar year.
